Nepalese capital saw successful election of the Russian President
(Kathmandu, March 4, 2012)

On March 4, 2012 voting at the Russian presidential elections was successfully held at the polling station #5194 established at the premises of the Russian Embassy in Kathmandu. The election was attended by Russian citizens employed or residing in the country including those belonging to staff of the Russian Embassy in Nepal and Russian tourists.

The election was marked by active participation of voters registered in the rolls and proceeded in a smooth and organized manner in a festive atmosphere.

According to the data provided by the Kathmandu election commission, the election was attended by 66 people, with largest number of votes cast for Vladimir Putin – 33. Mikhail Prokhorov ranked second with 15 votes and Gennady Zyuganov is third with 10 votes. Sergey Mironov and Vladimir Zhirinovsky received 6 and 2 votes respectively. None of the ballots turned out to be invalid.

During the election at the polling station #5194 in the Nepalese capital no violations or complaints regarding the functioning of the election commission were recorded.
