Russian Ambassador to Nepal Dr. Sergey V. Velichkin calls on
Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai

On September 7, 2011 H.E. Dr. Sergey V. Velichkin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Nepal paid a courtesy call on the newly-elected Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal Rt.Hon.Dr.Baburam Bhattarai at his office at Singha Durbar.

Russian envoy conveyed to Rt.Hon.Dr.Baburam Bhattarai felicitations of the Prime Ministerof the Russian Federation Mr. Vladimir V. Putin on the formers election to the high post. H.E. Dr. Sergey V. Velichkin assured the Prime Minister of Russias sympathy and support for the ongoing transition in Nepal, the success of which is dependent decisively on the results of the currently prioritized efforts to bring to early completion the peace process and the constitution making and briefed him on the recent developments in Russia-Nepal bilateral interaction highlighting durable and traditionally friendly character of relations enjoyed by the two countries, which are based on mutually beneficial equitable partnership and coincidence of fundamental interests. Rt.Hon.Dr.Baburam Bhattarai expressed his hope that the vast record of bilateral cooperation between Nepal and Russia will be enhanced and new areas of cooperation explored.
