Reception in honour of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal

Russian Center of Science and Culture in Kathmandu organized a reception to honour the newly appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal Dr. Sergey V. Velichkin.
The chief guest of the function was warmly welcomed by the leadership of Mitra Kunj and a number of Nepal-Russia NGOs and friendship associations.
Addressing audience, Dr. Sergey Velichkin praised the efficient and constructive cooperation evolved between the Embassy of Russia, the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Kathmandu and their esteemed Nepali partners. The Russian Ambassador also emphasized that Russian representatives in Nepal will take further efforts to facilitate strengthening multifarious relations between the two countries, applying new ideas and introducing new projects while adjusting to changing dynamics of contemporary realities in both states.
Chief Political Advisor to the Prime Minister Mr. Raghuji Pant, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Mr. Mod Raj Dottel and the Vice Chancellor of the Tribhuvan University Prof. Dr. Madhav Prasad Sharma were also present at the function and had brief exchanges with the Ambassador.
Mitra Kunj, an association of alumni from Institutions and Universities of former Soviet Union , was established in May 1967 with the objective of developing professional expertise and academic cooperation among them and has played ever since a significant role in social, technical and economical development of Nepal.
