Welcoming message from H.E. Mr. A.N.Borodavkin, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, to the participants and guests of the Week of Russia-Nepal Friendship in Kathmandu (April 15, 2010)

Dear friends,

I am sending my greeting to the participants and guests of the Week of Russia-Nepal Friendship.

Russia and Nepal are bound by long-standing and kind relations. These relations have never been affected by any disagreements, are based on mutual sympathy, respect and have enjoyed cordial ties irrespective of political situation.

The people of our countries show an amazing ability for perception of each others cultural and spiritual values. Russians have always displayed keen interest towards Nepal, its culture, art and nature. After visiting this Himalayan country Russian tourists stay charmed with the beauty of its mountain heights, temple complexes, hospitality of people and diversity of fauna reserves.

Our country is also willing to share the achievements of its material and spiritual culture. At this time, the Week of Russia-Nepal Friendship gives Nepali community an opportunity to take a closer look at a new, dynamically developing Russia, different areas of its life and national traditions.

I am confident that the upcoming events during the Week of Russia-Nepal Friendship will give momentum to the friendship between Russia and Nepal and become the driving force of further extension of bilateral relations which have a great potential.

Yours sincerely,

Moscow, April 15, 2010
